Tech Baseball Starting Lineup?

This isn't from an article, but rather a message board giving credit to Coach Hays and Coach Spencer...

From Soapsuds16 on raiderpower.com

Projected Batting Order:
Thennis-our best hitter when '07 ended
Rueda-will play either 2B or CF
Kieschnick-RF
Kreder-C, Spencer will be asking a lot of him
Richburg-OF
Ashby-OF
Rindels-Best 1B we have, can rake
Baker-solid defensively
Hall-expecting him to build on last season

Projected Starters:

1. Karns-pure stuff, MLB frame, stay healthy
2. Ramos-tough, good stuff
3. Bettis-He's a freak but young, ace in waiting
4a. Forneau
4b. Douglass
4c. Large

Projected Relievers:
Leverton
Cloud
Gonzalez
Janca
Two that aren't the #4 starter

Projected Closer:
Zach Stewart-our best pitcher, similar to Zach Butler two years ago

I got a lot of them right on guesses. It also appears that Miles Morgan will not be ready this month. I had heard from a few sources that Kenworthy would get the nod at 2nd, but it appears that Rueda will resume his starting position. If so, then expect to see Thennis being the DH since his defense was suspect at time last season, in the outfield and at 3rd.

I like Chad Bettis starting on the weekends. I have heard nothing but positive stuff on him, plus he was drafted in the 8th round by the Astros, but stuck by his commitment. Karns is a former UT signee who bolted (along with about 4 other pitchers) when Tom Holliday took over at NC State. I don't know anything about Forneau, Douglass or Stewart, but hope to soon.

All in all, I'm excited!

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal ran a story on the start of Tech's baseball practices.
